MASSOB leader, Uwazuruike expelled over N4 billion Embezzlement

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has expelled their leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.

National officers and regional administrators of MASSOB Subsequently elected Uchenna Madu as the new leader.

The group had accused the sacked MASSOB leader of defrauding them through the introduction of the Biafra international passport.

According to them, the international passport was a gross and dubious means through which he enriched himself.

The New Telegraph Newspapers had quoted MASSOB to have said that “Each member also pay N10,000 for Biafra International Passport to Ralph Uwazuruike. Since 1999 to 2014, members have contributed about N300 million to Uwazuruike’s account while about N200 million was also paid into a Zenith Bank account of Confidence Uwazuruike.”

Also, the panel set up to investigate Uwazuruike said “the MASSOB leader has bought houses in many locations in Owerri, including a street he bought and named after himself in New Owerri which comprises 28 plots. MASSOB has contributed nearly N4 billion in the last 16 years which Uwazurike has converted to personal use.”

Meanwhile, Madu, in his acceptance speech, asked all Igbo groups agitating for the Biafra nation to come together and close ranks.
