Mohamed Salah Is Africa’s Most Followed Player On Social Media

Liverpool forward and Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, tops a list of 60 African football stars on social media followership, with a digital community of 18,107,322 (18.1million) fans.

The CAF Africa Player of the Year and the BBC Award winner has 7.6m fans on Facebook, 6.7m on Instagram and 3.7m on Twitter which gives him quite some reach and his fan base continues to grow.

Former Chelsea striker and Ivorian Didier Drogba is second on the list with 16,306,174 (16.3million) fans and Samuel Eto’o with 12,871,174 (12.8million) followership.

Egyptian Football Legend, Mohammed Abou Trika surprisingly comes in at fourth with 11,717,497 (11.7million) fans.

While Borussia Dortmund and Gabon star, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang completes the top 5 with 7,132,216 (7.1million) fans.

Super Eagles star Victor Moses is the 17th position with a fan base of 2,611,541 (2.6million).

This makes the Chelsea winger the most followed Nigerian footballer, while Leicester City Striker Kelechi Iheanacho is in second with 580,675 fans and the 51st in Africa.
