The Confederation of African Football CAF has named Super Eagles stars Victor Moses and Shehu Abdullahi in its Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying XI.
This will be Moses’ third straight selection as he was also named in the team for last month’s double-header against African champions Cameroon.
Abdullahi who was also voted Man of the Match in the Super Eagles’ 1-0 win against Zambia in Uyo on Saturday, provided the assist for Alex Iwobi, which saw the Gernot Rohr men qualify for the next summer event for a 6th record time.
Reacting to the nomination, he expressed his gratitude for being included in the list.
“I’m honoured to be listed among CAF Best XI players for Matchday 5. Dedicating the nomination to Nigeria Super Eagles, the media and fans,” he tweeted on his Twitter handle.
Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah, who scored late win for Egypt to qualify for the World Cup after beating Congo 2-1, South Africa’s Percy Tau and Kalidou Coulibaly of Senegal are among the players selected, according to ScoreNigeria.
