Organisers of the MTV European Music Awards (MTV EMAs) have taken the shine off Wizkid’s rising profile after they stripped him off the 2016 ‘Best African Act’ title, recognising his Tanzanian rival, Alikiba as the rightful winner.

In what could be described as a costly blunder, Wizkid’s name has now been taken off the MTV EMAs website, while reflecting Alikiba as winner of the Best Africa Act category.

The blunder will, perhaps, ignite the lingering battle between Wizkid and AliKiba for recognition as the most promising music artist to come out of Africa in the last two years.

Ali Kiba and Wizkid’s feud started weeks back at a Chris Brown concert in Kenya after the former refused to perform before Wizkid, arguing that he was a bigger act and shouldn’t be made to appear on stage before the “Ojuelegba” crooner, a contest AliKiba won.

The 2016 MTV EMAs, hosted by Bebe Rexha, held on Sunday, November 6, at the Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
