National Security Summit: Buhari Restates Stand To Fight Corruption
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, called on the Nigeria police force to come up with modalities towards integrating communities in ensuring internal security and crime management in the country.
He made the call during the 2015 national security summit organized by the force in Abuja.
President Buhari who declared the summit open assured Nigerians that efforts are being made to enhance the workings of the Nigeria police force in tackling insurgencies and terrorisms in the country.

The summit, hosted by Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase which has no fewer than 400 participants that cuts across all strata of the Nigerian society in attendance is envisaged within the broader framework of dialogue with the communities.
The summit which is tagged ‘Community Partnership Approach to Internal Security and Crime Management’ is designed to galvanise citizens’ support for the police and other law enforcement agencies in a renewed drive to urgently address security challenges facing the country.
The summit comes with an over-riding motivation for the summit to bridge the gap between the police and communities in order to restore public trust as such trust would motivate citizens to see crime and national security management as a joint obligation of the citizens, the community and the state.
Some of those present at the summit include, Atiku Bagudo Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Abubakar Bello of Niger State, Rochas Okorocha, Governor of Imo state, Captain Idris Wada is represented by his Deputy, Arch. Awoniyi, Amanyanabo of Opobo, Emir of Kano, Emir of Gwandu, Etsu Nupe, Emir of Kazaure, Tor Tiv, Obi of Onitsha, Alafin of Oyo, Oba of Lagos, Gbong Gwom Jos, Emir of Mubi, Attah of Igala, Onitaju of Itaju-Ekiti, Emir of Hadejia, Emir of Lafia, Emir of Gumi, Emir of Kazaure, the representative of Oba of Benin, the Emir of Daura, British High Commissioner and the Deputy Head of Missions, Italian Embassy, and many others.
