Ndoma-Egba Denies Indicting Jonathan’s Govt Of Contract Scam

Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, Board Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has distanced himself from a write-up by Chief Adeniyi Akintola (SAN).

Akintola had in a statement quoted Ndoma-Egba as saying that “99% of the NDDC contracts awarded under Jonathan and fully paid for were neither documented nor executed and that it would take the EFCC more than a century to unravel the massive corruption in that establishment”.

But in a rebuttal on Wednesday, Ndoma-Egba, who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said he was not aware of any gathering or forum where the statement was allegedly made.

The NDDC chief admitted that the commission like other public-sector bodies had governance issues, which he says are systematically being addressed by his Board to guarantee transparency and accountability.

“Senator Ndoma-Egba warned that unsubstantiated assertions should not be linked to him in a bid to give such credibility,” read a statement by Clara Braide, Special Assistant Communication to the NDDC Chairman.
