NHIS Acting ES Warns Staff, Abuse Your Office, Face My Wrath

Attahiru Ibrahim, the Acting Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), has warned staff of the scheme against abuse of office.

Ibrahim, who takes over in the interim from embattled NHIS Boss, Usman Yusuf, threatened to spare no effort in dealing with any worker found in the act of abusing his or her office.

He said this in his first press statement upon taking over as Executive Secretary of the scheme.

“This is aimed at reassuring them that they’re first of all human beings who deserve some dose of dignity and realigning their focus with a new vision.

“This becomes compelling as not a few staff are still under a state of siege owing to, frankly speaking, a seeming gap and disconnect between the management and the workforce.

“While there is work to be done to boost staff morale, no effort would be spared to sanction staff that went beyond their briefs,” said Ibrahim.
