Nigeria Becomes The Fifth Exporter of Football Talents in The World

According to the CIES Football Observatory monthly report, Nigeria is the fifth highest exporter of footballers in the world, just behind Brazil, Argentina, France and Serbia.

The report, which focuses on international migration in football, reveals that Five-time world champions Brazil remain the biggest exporter of footballers in the world, with 1,784, playing in leagues across the world, followed by Argentina (929), France (758), Serbia (607) and Nigeria (596).

It said, the study comprises of 6,135 football clubs and 458 leagues of 183 countries worldwide, 18,660 foreign players of 194 origins.

Among the 15 countries exporting the most players are six European, five African and four South American nations.

Brazil by far provides the largest foreign players in Asia, dominating export to other parts of the world, while Argentina exports the highest number of players to South America.

Nigeria on the other hand, is also the biggest supplier of football talent in Africa.
