Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr, has said he cannot guarantee Nigeria’s qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Rohr who was speaking in Uyo ahead of Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations tie with Tanzania, stated that qualification was only achievable with hard work and commitment from all stakeholders.

He noted that despite the Eagles being in a very difficult group, regarded as the ‘Group of Death’, the country has enough quality to qualify from the group book a spot in Russia 2018.

“There is no guarantee that the Super Eagles will be in Russia because there is so much quality in our group but the motivation is very high,” added Rohr.

The Technical Adviser was recently appointed by the Nigeria Football Federation with the aim to qualifying the team for the World Cup after missing out of the 2017 Africa Nations Tournament in Gabon.

Rohr is reportedly said to earn about $40,000 monthly salary as stipulated in his contract.

The German further disclosed that he will hold crunch talks with former Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama in a bid to bring back the Lille of France goalkeeper to the team.

Enyeama had a year ago, retired controversially from the national team after a heated public disagreement with former Eagles handler, Sunday Oliseh.

Rohr confirmed he had contacted Enyeama twice since assuming office as Eagles coach.

“I plan to meet with Enyeama after the game against Tanzania, I will most likely meet him in France and see how best I can persuade him to come out of international retirement as he is still very much vital to our plans of reaching Russia 2018,” the German said in Uyo.

Stressing that he is not bothered with the likelihood of working and not being paid by Nigeria Football Federation, Rohr said, “I was owed between 6-8 months in Niger. I’m used to being owed in Africa. I have a contract and I am focusing on honouring it.”
