Nigerian Military Retires 403 Staff Dec. 15

The Nigerian military will retire no less than 403 military personnel from the armed forces on December 15, Air Vice Marshal Austine Jekenu has revealed.

AVM Jekenu, who is the Commandant, Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), on Thursday, told journalists in Lagos that the military will retire the said personnel from both the Army, the Air Force and the Navy.

“A total of 403 servicemen comprising of 281 from the Nigerian Army, 17 from the Nigerian Navy and 105 from the Nigerian Air Force would be graduating from the NAFRC,’’ Jekennu, who was represented by Maj. Gen. Edward Nze, said.

Jekennu noted that the retiring military men were made to undergo the training so as to enable them to adjust to life outside service.

He added that “Over 41, 400 ex-servicemen of the Nigerian Armed Forces have been trained in this centre since its inception.”
