Northern Coalition To Hold 1million March October 1 On Problems Of The Region

Some pro-Northern groups, Arewa Group, Arewa Summit Development Initiative have announced plans to stage a one million man march in Kano on October 1 to draw awareness to the multifaceted problems bedevilling the region.

National coordinator of the Arewa Group, Professor Aliyu Jibia, told a town hall meeting organized by Coalition for Northern Nigeria in Kano that the delegates’ conference would discuss wide ranging issues affecting the region.

According to Jibia, the north has the potential to pull itself from its economic challenge.

“Several years of comatose and inactions was responsible for the stunted economic growth,” Jibia remarked.

He told the gathering the group was collaborating with the 19 northern states government to take Almajiri off the streets.
