NYSC Apologises For Delay In Payment Of Corps Members Allowances

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), on Tuesday, apologised to corps members over the delay in the payment of their March 2016 allowances.

The management, in a statement issued by the Head of Press Unit, Mrs Abosede Aderibigbe, in Abuja, said the money was yet to be disbursed by the Federal Ministry of Finance into their account, adding that it was however, liaising with the Ministry to ensure that the money was promptly made available.

The management, therefore assured that the funds would be duly paid to accounts of corps members as soon as it was disbursed.

The statement read: “Management of the National Youth Service Corps regrets the delay in the payment of March 2016 allowances of corps members.

“In view of this, corps members and the public are, hereby, informed that management is actively liaising with the Federal Ministry of Finance to ensure that money is released for disbursement to the corps members through the usual Central Bank platform.

“In the same vein, it will be duly paid as soon as fund is released from the Federal Ministry of Finance.

“We, hereby, urge all corps members to remain calm and go about their lawful duties peacefully.”
