NYSC Shifts ‘Batch A’ Orientation Programme

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has postponed to April 27, the three-week Batch A Orientation course earlier scheduled to start on March 30 to April 27.

This information was disclosed by the NYSC’s director of press and public relations Abosede Aderibigbe in Abuja on Monday.

It was earlier reported on that prospective corps members were tangled with reports on Friday, stating that the orientation programme had been suspended.

However, the statement made by NYSC cleared the air, Aderibigbe, who did not give reasons for the shift, noted that the estranged time-table released earlier was the work of hackers who allegedly gained access to the Corps’ website.

She said: “We wish to confirm the shift in date for the commencement of the 2016 Batch ‘A’ Orientation course.

“The new time-table for the course is as follows:

Stream I
Commencement: Wednesday, 27th April, 2016

Swearing-in ceremony: Friday, 29th April, 2016, Close of Camp: Friday, 13th May, 2016

Stream II
Commencement: Saturday, 21st May, 2016 Swearing-in ceremony: Monday, 23rd May, 2016

Close of Camp: Monday, 6th June, 2016

“We also use this opportunity to express our sincere regrets over any inconveniences this change of date might cause to Prospective Corps Members and other esteemed stakeholders.”
