Following her decision to skip the 2015 All Africa Games, the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) have placed a ban on sprinter Blessing Okagbare; excluding her from representing the country at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil.

Okagbare, who had a disappointing outing at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championship in Beijing, China, alleged that an injury forced her out of the competition.

She thereafter ruled herself out of the All Africa Games (AAG), currently taking place in Congo.

But amazingly, Okagbare ran at the Diamond League in Zurich, over the weekend, much to the vexation of athletics officials.

The NSC and the AFN, after examining the circumstances behind her decision to exclude herself from the AAG, were left with no other option than to ban her from next year Olympics.
