Olisa Metuh Freed From Prison

The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, has been freed from Kuje Prison, after his successful fulfillment of the bail conditions imposed on him by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The PDP spokesperson who has been in prison custody for nearly two weeks was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on January 5, 2016 over allegation of fraud.

He regained his freedom on Thursday evening after the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, signed his release warrant, upon being satisfied with the verification of the details of the two sureties provided by the accused and the title documents of the property owned by the sureties.

Metuh and his firm, Destra Investment Limited, were charged before the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court over alleged N400 million fraud.
