Olisa Metuh: Nigerians Call Out Justice Okon Abang On Twitter
Some angry Nigerians have taken to Twitter on Wednesday to decry the alleged maltreatment of Olisa Metuh, former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), by Justice Okon Abang of the Abuja Federal High Court.
Justice Abang is the trial judge in charge of Metuh`s N400 million money laundering trial.
The former PDP spokesperson has fruitlessly made efforts to get the court to allow him travel abroad to cater to his deteriorating health.
But using the hashtag #FairTrialForOlisaMetuh, Nigerians have relied on the micro-blogging site to demand fair trial for the ex-PDP spokesperson who on Monday appeared in court on a stretcher.
Some of the reactions:
Justice for auction. Fast moving item. First come, first served.

If the same Justice Okon Abang had himself granted most defendants relieves to travel abroad for medical treatments as cited above, what is then the reason or evidence justifying the imposition of blanket ban in Olisa Metuh’s own case?#FairtrialforOlisaMetuh

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives, in a motion titled “need to save the life of Olisa Metuh’’, intervened in the longstanding trial of the ex-PDP spokesperson.
The House members on Tuesday urged the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to intervene in Metuh`s nonstop trial.
