Omokri Calls Soyinka Chief Poke Noser Over Planned Private Funeral For Nigerians

Former Special Assistant to ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, has slammed Professor Wole Soyinka for criticising Nigerians over calls for his relocation back to Nigeria after Donald Trumps United States election.

The Nobel Laureate in a media parley in Lagos on Monday, said he will be holding a private funeral on January 20, the Donald Trump will be inaugurated, so as to mourn the death of common sense in Nigeria.

“Why do Nigerians wail louder than the bereaved?,” he queried.

“I am embarrassed to occupy the same nation space as some imbeciles and morons. I am planning my Wolexit, which could be internal or external.

“On the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration, I will have a private funeral keep to mourn the death of Nigeria’s common sense. If the board agrees (because I do not like to be authoritarian) I will move the residency of my foundation out of the country,” he said.

Soyinka’s comments did not go down well with Omokri, who labelled him the “chief poke noser”, slamming him for crying foul over something he came out publicly to boast about it.

“Wole Soyinka, a public figure who is the chief poke noser into the affairs of other public figures to the extent of calling a First Lady a ‘hippo’ is angry at invasion of his privacy!,” Omokri said on Facebook.

“You publicly boasted that you would destroy (not throw away but destroy) your Green Card and now you are angry at Nigerians for invading your private matters that you yourself brought into the public domain! And he insults us by calling us ‘illiterate Nigerians’!

“That we don’t have a Nobel Prize does not mean that we don’t know how to reason. You can’t boast publicly about a thing and expect it to be privately discussed. Who cares if you change residency from Nigeria? When you were gone we survived. Even with you and Buhari, we will still survive!”

Mr. Omokri also took to his twitter handle to again slam the 82-year-old Nobel Laureate.
