Omotola’s ‘Alter Ego’ Leads AMVCA Nominations

The nominees for the 6th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) have been announced.

The list was revealed on Saturday, by popular Ghanaian actress and TV presenter, Joselyn Dumas, and Nigerian comedian and actor, Abovi Ugboma known as Bovi via a syndicated broadcast on all Africa Magic channels.

Alter Ego, a film directed by actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, had the highest number of nominations.

The movie was nominated for best cinematography movies/TV series with Bishop Blunt and Adeoye Adeniyi at the helm.

For her performance in ‘Alter Ego’, Omotola was nominated in the best actress in a drama/TV series category.

Wale Ojo, who played the male lead, also received a nod for best actor in a drama/TV series and a nomination for best supporting actor in ‘Betrayal’ making him the only actor nominated twice.

While Emem Inwang bagged a nomination for best supporting actress.

Moses Inwang and Tunde Bakare behind the scenes, the drama also received a nod for best picture editor.

The visionary Inwang also bagged a best director nomination for his work on the film.

The AMVCA, which has rewarded excellence in TV and film for five years since 2013, is scheduled to hold on September 1, 2018.
