Osinbajo Leads Committee To Rebuild Communities Affected By Herdsmen Crisis

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed his deputy, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to head a committee to rebuild communities affected by Herdsmen and Farmers’ clashes.

This was according to a statement by Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Vice President, on Thursday in Abuja.

Akande said the committee, which was inaugurated by President Buhari on Thursday, will also consider compensation for victims of the crisis.

Thousands of innocent Nigerians have lost their lives following the clashes between farmers and herders in the country, especially across states located in the middle-belt region.

In Benue and Taraba states, more than 200 people have been reportedly killed in 2018 alone.
