Former Nigeria U23 head coach, Samson Siasia has told the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay him his outstanding salary, following the end of his contract with the Dream Team VI.

Siasia who spoke in an interview with The PUNCH newspaper on Sunday, noted that his contract with the U23 team as agreed with the NFF ended with the Rio Olympics.

The former Super Eagles striker was however disappointed with the NFF, as they are yet to meet the terms of the contract which includes the payment of his salary and allowances.

“This is not really resignation; my contract was arranged to end with the Olympics. And so the contract has ended,” Siasia said.

“What is very important is that I get every kobo that I am owed. I need the money now than ever and I believe I have really endured and I have been cooperative.”

The 49-year-old however denied reports which made rounds over the weekend that he resigned as the coach of the Nigeria U23 side.

“I spoke with a reporter but I guess the one who are referring to was extracted from the interview I granted somebody else. What I was asked was my entire story at the Olympics and this included Atlanta camping.

“Of course a lot of things happened that I can’t be really happy about especially the way the team was portrayed. But that is over as my contract has also actually ended. What is left now is my cash and that is very, very important,” he said.

Recall that Siasia who helped Nigeria to men’s football bronze medal at the Rio Olympics, over the weekend, said he no longer wants to have anything to do with Nigeria football, in what he described as “a disrespectful system’’.

He also claimed that the NFF have not paid him for five months, before recalling the terrible experience he and his players had in in Brazil during the Olympic Games.
