The Coalition of PDP Youth Forum, has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to desist from making defamatory statements against the party and its national chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

In a statement jointly signed by its national cordinator, Hon. Emmanuel Okoronkwo; national secretary John Mkpanam; and national organising secretary, Dr Emma Amushie, the group pleaded with members of the party to work with the leadership of the party in order to make it a formidable party ahead of 2019 general election.

While commending all the organs of the PDP for their wise decision and general support for Senator Sheriff as the new national chairman of the party, the group noted that Sheriff is the right candidate for the party because of his doggedness and leadership quality amongst several qualities.

The statement read, “The Forum hereby warns all warring factions to desist from making any further defamatory statement against the person of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff in particular and the party in general.

“We believe in the person of the party chairman because of his doggedness, leadership quality, ability to command a wider cloud of the political class across the nooks and crannies of Nigeria.

“His wealth of experience and political exposure; his overwhelming popularity and general acceptability.

“We therefor urge our amiable national chairman to continue extending his hands of fellowship to all aggrieved members because he is father of all in the party.
