PDP Official Twitter Account Shut Down Following Hanan Buhari Tweet

The party’s Head of Publicity Division, Chinwe Nnorom disclosed this in a statement via its official Facebook page, citing the recent activities on the handle as reasons.

According to Nnorom, the new official twitter account will be made known to the public soon.

The statement read: “The general public may wish to recall that the official twitter handle of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, @PDPNigeria was compromised sometime last year and a statement was issued to that regard to alert unsuspecting members of the public.

“However, in view of the recent activities on the handle, I have been directed again to emphasize the shutdown of this twitter account.

“All tweets and any communication from the handle @PDPNigeria does not represent the views of the Party forthwith. We will inform the general public of a new twitter account soon. Thanks for your understanding.”

This is coming in less than twenty four hours after the party, through its official handle, accused Hanan Aisha Buhari, daughter to President Muhammadu Buhari, of jetting to the UK in first class via British Airways flight.

The PDP, after posting the information, had recalled that Buhari had banned all government officials from flying first class.
