PDP Replies Obasanjo, We Won’t Die If You Don’t Return

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has told former President Olusegun Obasanjo that it will not die if he does not return.

The party said this in response to a statement made by the former leader that he would never return to the party.

“I will never return to the PDP, just like a dog would never return to its vomit,” the former president had said after a closed door meeting with the National Caretaker Chairman of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi in Abeokuta.

But the party in a response by its spokesperson, Prince Dayo Adeyeye said it will not force Obasanjo, a former leader of the party, to return as its member.

The party said, “He has said it before ( that he won’t return to the party ). We are not going to force him. No individual is bigger than the party.

“Obasanjo has the right to hold his opinion. But the PDP will not die, whether he joins us or not.

“We respect his opinion. There’s nothing to say more than that . He is an individual and we respect him.”
