President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday met with a high-powered delegation in Washington DC, ahead of his meeting with U.S President Donald Trump.

Governors, cabinet members, lawmakers, captains of industries, amongst others were on ground to receive the President as he arrived the U.S capital.

Conspicuously present were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyema, Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.

Also present were Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and the 82-year-old Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Sylvanus Nsofor.

Buhari’s visit comes after Trump met German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday and French President Emmanuel Macron last week to discuss the contentious Iran nuclear deal and biting trade sanctions.

According to a White House statement, the talks will focus on fighting terrorism and insecurity, economic growth and democratic development in Nigeria.
