Police Apprehend Fake Medical Doctor

39-year-old Abdulrahman Mohammed has been apprehended by the Lagos state police command on Monday for illegal medical practices.

According to reports, Mohammed who is a primary school dropout has been administering intravenous injections to patients and also collects blood and urine samples for diagnosis in his clinic at Mushin area of the state.

Meanwhile, the Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Mr Edgal Imohimi warned residents of the state to be vigilant as to where they purchase drugs, revealing that Mohammed has been practising as a medical doctor since 2014.

Equally, Imohimi said, “He has confessed that he buys his drugs from Idumota market, Lagos Island. We recovered a blood pressure reading machine, both manual and electronic types; syringes, drip packs and both saline and sugar solution etc. He will soon be charged to court.”

Mohammed, speaking to newsmen said, ‘’I did not finish my primary school and I was not taught to sell the drugs. My pharmacy was not licensed.

“I do not treat people. I do not collect blood or urine samples. I only sell the kits and people come to buy it.

“For the thermometer, people used to come and check their temperature and other things by themselves. If someone comes and complained of a headache and fever, I give them Panadol or Boscopan and blood tonic.”
