On a tip-off, the kidnappers were chased and the women rescued after the kidnappers abandoned their victims in their vehicles and took to their heels.

Makama ascribed their prompt response to the timely information available to the police and implored members of the public to volunteer information about criminal acts to the police.

He also reacted to some recent cases of murder, kidnap and rape in the state saying investigations are on-going on the ones reported.

“Issues of kidnap, armed robbery and rape are not cases anyone closes his eyes to. We are pro-active and optimistic that we will rid the state of sundry crimes,” he said.
