Police Officer Escapes Being Lynched As He Tries To Snatch Biafran Flag
There was a mild drama during a football match between Rangers of Enugu and Abia Warriors of Umuahia at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu on Friday night, July 8.
A police officer providing security for the spectators was almost lynched during the match for trying to snatch a Biafran flag from a fan. It was reported that the football fan was seen waving the former secessionist country’s flag at the stadium while dancing to the popular traditional ogene music.

The bold attempt to snatch the flag from the fan by the officer was met with stiff opposition form and angry mob who were at the stadium as football fans.
The police officer was lucky to have escaped from being lynched with the help of some of his colleagues as some youths surged towards him shouting, “Wetin, Wetin, Wetin.”
He was later reported to have been whiskered out of the stadium.
