Police Rescue 3 ‘God Is Good’ Kidnapped Passengers

The Nigerian Police have announced the rescue of three out of the five passengers of ”God is Good” motors kidnapped on Monday morning on the East-West road in Rivers.

Spokesman of the Rivers state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed this to newsmen said that the driver of the bus was shot while three of the passengers were rescued following the police intervention.

“Our men responded immediately and rescued three of the passengers while two are still with the kidnappers.

“We are trying to be careful to avoid harming them or getting them killed. We are making efforts to see that they’re rescued within the next 12 hours.

“All other passengers are safe. It was only the driver that was shot but he has been taken to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.

“We have retrieved the bus and it is currently at the police station.”

Omoni also said the police will beef up security along the road to ensure there is no repeat of any kidnapping incidence in the area.
