The House of Representatives has summoned the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, over claims he made on the 2017 budget.

Recall that Fashola’s ministry, in the 2017 budget, allegedly inserted N20billion for miscellaneous expenditure.

The lawmakers had queried the insertion stating that it is worrisome that the sum was more than that of the second Niger Bridge which had N12billion estimate.

Fashola had also claimed that the National Assembly included many projects that were not presented in the budget defence before the committees.

Fayose, thereafter, described members of the National Assembly as having “stark and worrisome knowledge” of the budget process.

Lawmakers, angry over Fashola’s comments, have now invited the minister to defend his statement.
