Rivers Rerun Elections: Do Not Compromise, Wike Warns INEC

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, has warned officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against rigging in the forthcoming national and House of Assembly rerun elections in the state.

Governor Wike issued the warning while addressing civil servants at the state secretariat in Port Harcourt yesterday.

The governor’s warning was coming on the heels of the postponement of the rerun election.

The election which was earlier scheduled February 6, was postponed by the INEC to March 19, 2016.

Wike further appealed to the workers and Rivers people to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates to promote harmony in governance.
