Rooney Equals Denis Law as Man. United’s Second Highest Goal scorer

Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney has equaled Denis Law’s record as the club’s second highest goal scorer, with a powerful header against CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Campions League on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.

The England international having faced criticism from many quarters this season, for his lack of goals rescued Louis Van Gaal’s side in the 79th minute with a bullet header soaring past CSKA keeper Igor Akinfeev and into the roof of the net.

He has now scored 237 goals for Manchester United, 12 goals behind Bobby Charlton, who is United’s all-time goal scorer.

After the game, the 24 year old, who is also England’s record international goal-scorer, said: “Denis Law is a legend at this club and to equal his record is a huge honour for me.”
