Russia 2018: Italy To Face Sweden In European Play-Off

The match-ups to contest the final four European tickets to next year’s FIFA World Cup in Russia have been decided, as the play-off ties featuring the group stage’s eight best second-placed sides were confirmed in Zurich on Tuesday.

Italy who were the runner-up in group G behind Spain have been drawn to face Sweden in the World Cup play-offs, while the Republic of Ireland face Denmark.
Northern Ireland will face Switzerland and Croatia meet Greece.

The first leg of play-off ties will be played over November 9-11, with the second leg quickly following on November 12-14, and the winners clinching one of the last remaining World Cup tickets, joining the nine representatives from the continent already set for the finals.
