Saraki, Dogara, Patience Jonathan At Melaye’s Anti-Graft Book Launch

Senate President Bukola Saraki; Speaker of House of Reps, Yakubu Dogara, and former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, are among the dignitaries at the launch of a book; ‘Antidote for Corruption’, by Senator Dino Melaye.

Melaye was one of those who campaigned vigorously against President Goodluck Jonathan, and have severally accused the former administration of being corrupt.

Dame Jonathan herself has been the subject of many investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The book reviewer, former Speaker of the House of Reps, Ghali Na’abba, said corruption in the country is often defined from a subjective perspective.

He described the menace as a failure of leadership in the country.

“There is no consensus on what constitutes corruption most definitions of corruption in Nigeria have been subjective,” he said.

“Corruption is not only in matters of finance, corruption also means deviance. It is simply a failure of leadership. It is social deviance. Nepotism, stealing and all social deviance is corruption.”
