Saraki Stops Congratulatory Message To Jonathan @ 60

President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has “stopped press” on the congratulatory message he issued on the 60th birthday of former Pesident Goodluck Jonathan.

Earlier, Saraki in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, in Abuja, had lauded the ex-president’s contribution to the progress of democracy and overall development of the country.

He described Jonathan as a leader whose decision to peacefully exit power following the results of the 2015 presidential election will remain indelible in the annals of the country.

The Senate President further prayed that Almighty God should grant Dr. Jonathan excellent health to serve mankind for many more years.

However, hours later, a “STOP PRESS, PLEASE DISREGARD STATEMENT ON JONATHAN” was sent to journalists.

The terse message read: “Dear colleagues/Editor, please kindly DISREGARD the statement congratulating ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on his 60th birthday. Thanks. CPS.”
