Saraki vs. CCT: Supreme Court Fixes February 15 For Hearing

The Supreme Court, on Thursday, fixed February 5, 2016 for hearing on the appeal filed by Senate President Bukola Saraki against the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

This is coming after the Federal Government leveled a 13-count criminal charge against the former Kwara State Governor before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) over alleged false declaration of assets.

Saraki had recently lodged an appeal at the Supreme Court, challenging the Appeal Court’s judgment that ruled in favour of the continuation of his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.

Leading a panel of seven judges, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mahmud Mohammed, announced the date after hearing the arguments of the counsels to the plaintiff and the respondent.
