Senate Committee Launches Probe Into Ogoni Cleanup, Visits Rivers

The Senate has launched investigation into the non-implementation of the Ogoni Cleanup exercise.

The Senate committee on environment headed by the Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, Oluremi Tinubu, as part of their oversight function, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

Recall that on June 6th the Legislative arm initiated moves to probe President Muhammadu Buhari’s $1 billion Ogoni land cleanup by directing its committee on environment to investigate the alleged non-implementation of the exercise.
