Senate Moves To Probe Saraki, Melaye

The Senate, on Tuesday, approved the probe of Senate President Bukola Saraki, over the alleged importation of a Range Rover without paying Customs duty.

Recall that Saraki was accused of failure to pay duties on the bullet proof vehicle to the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS.

It was learnt that this was why the Saraki ordered the Comptroller General of the NCS, Colonel Hameed Ali, to appear before it as his office allegedly seized his bullet-proof Range Rover.

The decision to probe Saraki followed a Point of Order raised by Senator Ali Ndume at plenary on Tuesday.

Similarly, Senator Ndume said allegations that Melaye did not graduate from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria as claimed, should be investigated.

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over plenary, ordered Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges to look into the allegations.
