Senate Rejects Sale Of National Asset

The Nigerian Senate has opposed the proposed sale of national asset by the federal government.

The decision was made on Tuesday at the resumed plenary after extensive deliberation.

Recall that the Buhari administration has proposed the sell some asset to revive the economy which had moved into recession.

At plenary, the senate majority leader, Ali Ndume, moved a motion urging the senate to reject the proposal for the sale of the nation’s assets.

“I move that ‎the senate oppose the sale of national assets to shore up our reserves,” he said.

After Senate President Bukola Saraki put the motion to a voice vote, “the ayes had it”.
