Senator Attacks Reps Member For Empowering Youth With Shoe-Shinning Kits
The Senator representing Bayelsa East, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, has reacted after a fellow lawmaker empowered youth in his constituency with shoe shining kit.
Ahmed Usman Jama, member of the Federal House of Representatives from Borno State, on Wednesday, empowered over 5,000 youths with the new improved shoe shining kit and bags of oranges.
The lawmaker who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the donation as he revealed his intention to retain his seat at the National Assembly in the 2019 election.
But reacting on Thursday, Murray-Bruce, who didn’t seem to be pleased with the gesture, said lawmakers from the North have not done enough to ensure the 12 million out-of-school children in the region earn a living in the future.
Shoe-shining in 2018? Without education, Nigeria’s 12 million out of school children, who are mostly in Northern Nigeria, will find it hard to earn a living in future. If they cannot earn a living, they will live in despair which will make them vulnerable to anti social tendency!
