Setback For Trump As Legal Team Spokesman, Corallo Resigns

Mark Corallo, spokesman for U.S. President Donald Trump’s personal legal team has resigned, state media reports.

Corallo’s departure comes amid reports of a shake-up in the US President’s legal team over the Russia investigation.

Mark Corallo was a spokesman for Marc Kasowitz, who is defending Trump in an inquiry into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

United State intelligence agencies are currently investigating Kremlins alleged collusion with last year’s election, which brought Trump into power.

In an emailed statement confirming his resignation on Friday, Corallo gave no details about his decision departure.

However, reports have it that the spokesman had grown weary of the infighting and divisions which had emerged between the White House and the legal team.

Mr Corallo was also said to be close to the Justice Department’s Mr Mueller, who is leading the Russia investigation, and has praised him publicly in the past.

The New York Times claimed his departure was also motivated by frustration over efforts to undermine the investigation.
