Instead of pizza;
Pizza is often greasy and loaded with saturated fats and calories from cheese and processed meats. Consuming saturated fats is an excess calories on a regular basis and these puts you at risk of heart disease, obesity and other dangerous conditions. You can replace pizza with bagel with tomatoes or a homemade pizza.

Instead of canned tomatoes (which have high BPS and BPA levels).
The linings of the tin cans have a resin which contains bisphenol-A, or BPA. This is a synthetic estrogen that has been linked to heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes and even obesity. You can replace it with the fresh ones, which is regarded as one of the world’s healthiest food.

Instead of lollipops:
Lollipops are so bad because they are loaded with unhealthy refined sugar with no health benefits. Instead try dried fruit alternatives, like figs, apricots or dates.

Instead of chocolate:
The truth is we all love chocolate very much. In order to still get healthy tastes from your chocolate, switch out to the organic or dark chocolates that are high in cocoa content without additives.

Instead of cake:
Cakes are one of the highest suppliers of calories to the human body. Luckily, we have alternatives such as banana bread. Make one using whole wheat flour, wheat germ and some crushed nuts and you will be ready for health success!

Instead of vegetable oil.
The commonly used means of cooking in Nigeria is frying. In order to avoid the calories infested in vegetable oil, Olive oil is introduced. It’s a heart- healthy monounsaturated fatty acids which lowers LDL cholesterol and have the welcome effect of trimming belly fat

Instead of fizzy drinks:
Fizzy drinks have no benefit whatsoever for the human body. You can substitute your soda cravings for a glass of water with a little lime or lemon instead, locally made zobo, Kunu, etc.

Instead of ice cream:
Ice cream is probably one of Nigeria’s biggest vices when it comes to unhealthy diets. To avoid this calorie infested snack, try out organic probiotic yogurt. Studies show that probiotics may help eradicate stomach and urinary tract infections.

Finally, Thirst is often confused with hunger or food cravings.
If you feel a sudden urge for a specific food, try drinking a large glass of water and wait a few minutes. You may find that the craving fades away, because your body was actually just thirsty.
