Southern Kaduna Pledges Allegiance To Biafra

Southern Kaduna will go with Biafra if Nigeria breaks up, John Danfulani, coordinator of the Centrum Initiative for Development and Fundamental Rights Advocacy has said.

Danfulani said this when he paid a courtesy visit to leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, in Abia state on Monday.

Danfulani, who accused the Federal Government of neglect, said the people of Southern Kaduna share a lot of values with Biafrans.

Southern Kaduna in the Southern part of Kaduna State, is an area predominantly dominated by Christians.

However, violence by suspected herdsmen and farmers have become the order of the day in the region, with major Christian bodies labelling it a religious crisis.

“If Nigeria breaks up, we won’t go with the north. Certainly, we will go with Biafra because, we share a lot in common,” Danfulani said.

“We can form a confederation based on agreement. It is better for us because we are safer in Biafra.

“In the north, they don’t like us because we don’t pray like them. So, it is better we follow those who share the same faith and values with us.”

Kanu was on April 25, 2017, granted bail by Justice Binta Nyako of a division of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

He and three others are facing trial on allegations of treason among others.

The judge said Mr. Kanu must never be seen in a crowd of more than 10 people.

“No interviews and no rallies,” said Mrs. Nyako.

However, Kanu has since then toured several states in the South-east, addressing thousands of pro-Biafran supporters, urging them to sustain agitation for the actualization of an independent state of Biafra.
