Supreme Court Victory: Abia Govt Declares Wednesday As Public Holiday

The Abia State government has declared Wednesday, 17th February 2016, public holiday to enable workers and other Abians celebrate the verdict of the Supreme Court which affirmed Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as the duly elected governor of the state.

Recall that the Supreme Court, on February 3rd 2016, delivered her judgment validating Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s election.

The apex court’s ruling nullified the earlier decision by the court of appeal to cancel the gubernatorial elections and to swear in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Dr. Alex Otti.
