Take Education Seriously, Nkanu-East LGA Chairman’s Wife Urges Children
The wife of the transition committee chairman of Nkanu East local government area in Enugu State, Mrs Precious Ndidiamaka Ubagu, has charged young people to take education seriously, stating that it is only through education that they could realize their life’s ambitions.
She made this known yesterday when she embarked on sensitization of students in some schools in the council on the importance of education under her pet project: ‘Catch Them Young’.
“Everything is anchored on education. Education prepares the mind for any challenge. It is advisable to acquire at least your secondary education before embarking on any trade. I also discourage parents from giving out their under-aged for marriage. It has both medical and societal risks,” she said.

In another development, Mrs Ubagu urged the less privileged in the council area not to lose hope.
Speaking at Umudara Development Centre, Mburubu, during an empowerment programme, she said, “Our governor, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and his wife Monica have shown us that there is hope. They have lived by that principle. I urge you to remain steadfast and prayer for them. They are listening leaders and there are many forums available for all of us to benefit from their kindness.”
During the event, Mrs Ubagu distributed cash, clothes and food items to some of the less privileged selected across the wards of the council.
She further embarked on free medical testing and treatment aimed at ensuring good health for the people of the area.
