The Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM) recently proposed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo has called on Nigerian youths to help save the country from total collapse.
The Movement, which launched at the Shehu Yar`Adua Centre in Abuja on Wednesday, said it needs the youth to serve as the `Third Force` earlier proposed by Obasanjo to remove President Buhari from office.
Obasanjo had said the `Third Force` is required to correct the flaws of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the country.
Speaking at the launch of the Movement, former Osun State governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, said the elders in the Coalition will only provide guidance for the youths.
“We are forming the movement to give the youths the chance to salvage the country. We, the elders will only provide guidance. We will be doing these together to salvage Nigeria from total collapse, ” said Oyinlola.
“This is not a political party, at least for now. If it must turn into a political party, it must be the collective decision of all of us in the movement. Let me also add that we are not formed to legitimise OBJ legacies,” added the former governor and APC board member.
