There are indications that the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Mr. Timi Frank will face suspension over comment that the party will crumble before year 2019.

Recall that Frank had on Tuesday warned that the party may not survive beyond 2019 unless urgent steps are taken to rebuild public confidence.

Speaking on his call for the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and the need to overhaul the party, Frank had said: “I’m not alone in this. At the appropriate time, more leaders will speak out. We have between now and February, 2017. If we don’t harmonise our differences, some of us will have no choice but to take the next step to pursue our political future.

“If the crisis within the party is not resolved, there will be no APC in 2019.”

He had also warned the party against appointing any person to take up his constitutionally assigned role.

But according to a report by The Punch, the party will within the next few hours constitute a panel to investigate him based on a petition which boarders on anti-party activities.

It was learnt that the party is expected to name an acting spokesman and the name of a former Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi is making the rounds as the likely party consensus candidate.
