Trafficking: After Oba Of Benin’s Curse, Victims Speak Out (VIDEO)
Days after the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, rained curses on human traffickers, victims have continued to speak out against their once powerful “owners”.
In two video clips that have gone viral, two of the victims did not only join in raining curses on their traffickers, but have exposed their identities.
Oba Ewuare II, had on Friday assembled top sorcerers and magic priests of Benin Kingdom at his palace grounds, to place curses on herbalists, native doctors who aid human traffickers by administering oaths of secrecy on their victims.
The curse was also extended to cultists, kidnappers, religious leaders and anyone involved in illegal trafficking of persons.
His action followed reports by people and complaint by the Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Dame Julie Okah-Donli, that victims are subjected to oaths of secrecy by their traffickers.
In the video posted by a Facebook user, Aolat Oluwatomisin Sule-Ahlonsou, Jennifer, who was reportedly trafficked through the Mediterranean via Libya into Europe for prostitution, by her madam, Queen Godwin, claims she was billed to pay Queen €35,000 of which she has paid €30,000.
