Twitter CEO’s Account Hijacked

Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey had his Twitter and Vine accounts hacked briefly over the weekend by a mysterious group of hackers.

Known as OurMine, the group previously took credit for compromising social media accounts belonging to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google boss Sundar Pichai.

The group has now aimed at Twitter’s core, releasing several Vine videos via Dorsey’s account, which cross-posted to his Twitter feed.

The tweet read: “Hey, its OurMine,we are testing your security” and linked to their website. It has since been deleted.

Vine is owned by Twitter, with many users logging into their accounts via Twitter.

Twitter did not immediately respond to request for comment, however, the company later said: “We don’t comment on individual accounts for privacy and security reasons.”

Recently, the group hacked the Twitter account of the micro-blogging site’s Co-Founder and former CEO Evan Williams.

Similarly, popular career-oriented platform LinkedIn notified about data breach and alerted its 400 million members to stay safe.

The group has undoubtedly garnered recent attention for a string of high-profile takeovers.

But question remain over how much power and influence the group has, based on bizarre interactions with the group’s members and what appear to be fake screenshots purporting to be “evidence” of the group’s alleged hacking prowess.
