Twitter Improves User Experience, Rolls Out Night Mode

Twitter on Tuesday announced the launch of ‘Night Mode’ feature on its Android mobile platform.

The ‘Night Mode’ user interface (UI) automatically switches the white background with a dark blue user interface paired with white text to make it easy on the eyes during the night.

You can switch on the ‘Night Mode’ feature on Android in the top menu, where you’ll either see the navigation menu icon or your profile icon depending on the device you have – tap either of those, and then switch the Night Mode toggle on.

There’s no information about when the feature will be rolled out for iOS, the report added.

The microblogging website has been testing the feature among a small number of alpha testers since past few months.

The company recently also announced that it will finally allow general users and other non-verified organisations to get their accounts verified.

Before now, the verified accounts were limited largely to celebrities.

To fill the form, users are required to visit the company’s dedicated support page. The one-page form asks users to confirm the account that has to be verified and why it should be verified. Users need a verified mobile number, confirmed email address, a bio, a profile photo along with a header photo reflecting the person, a birthday, a link to a website other than twitter, and tweets set as ‘Public’ in privacy settings.

Once the form has been completed, Twitter will reply via email. If the request is denied, users can again submit the form 30 days after receiving the email.
