This is the first time a lawmaker from the lower legislative House is defecting to APGA.

Nwankwo represents Orumba north/south federal constituency, while Anebe is from Awka north/south, both from Anambra State.

In separate letters read by House Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, both men cited division in the state chapter of the party as the reason for their defection.

The defection now brings the total number of lawmakers in the House of Representatives to three.
